What you need to get started
The full list is short: a plug-in kit (panel + microinverter + cable), a sunny south-facing spot, a nearby outdoor-rated outlet, and a five-minute rules check.
Sun first. Output depends almost entirely on light. South-facing with no shade is ideal; east/west still works at reduced output.
The outlet matters. Use a dedicated, outdoor-rated GFCI outlet on a circuit that isn't already loaded. Avoid power strips.
Check before you buy. Confirm plug-in solar is allowed where you live (state guide) and whether your utility wants a notification.
